We  Wrote letters on the inside of shells to create a fun letter manipulative. Then, students hid and found the letters in regular sand or kinetic sand. to challenge our preschoolers, i had them build names or sight words with the shell letters.

ICE CREAM LEARNING

Our classroom ice cream theme is such a fun theme for our preschool students!

We have been practicing counting syllables with these cute ice cream cone picture cards. Each cone features a number and then students must identify the picture. Next, they count the number of syllables and place it on the matching cone.

We've been making letter banana splits! We've been matching uppercase and lowercase letters. We also have been matching uppercase to uppercase, uppercase to lowercase, and lowercase to lowercase.

Our Preschoolers love searching for letters in their ice cream! I am having students pick letter cards from a sensory bin and then trace the letter on the worksheet. I also hide the letter cards around the room. Then, give students a clipboard and worksheet to walk around the room and find the letters. This activity has been a great way to incorporate movement into learning.

I just love these mint chip ice cream counting boards for tons of math skills! Our Preschoolers are practicing number recognition, tracing the number, and then counting out that many manipulatives. I am using brown pom poms for chocolate chips. I also Throw some tweezers in for fine motor work.

I Use a little bowl (to-go dip containers) and put numbers inside. Then, have students use measuring spoons to scoop mini pom poms to match the number. I Use numbers that students can count to independently, and that may look different for each student. One child may work on 11-20, while another may be working on 1-10. We have been learning so much with our Ice Cream Theme!
